The dog is man’s best friend: fleas and ticks are among the main enemies of man’s best friend. Fleas, which are small brown-colored insects, are visible to the naked eye amidst the fur of the pet. The fleas position themselves on the ground, upon tree trunks, underground, in the cracks of buildings, in the countryside, in warehouses etc. In particular, fleas can be responsible for diseases such as: a) allergic dermatitis which manifests itself in a strong and very irritating itch that is most commonly situated on the pet’s back, at the base of its tail, and on the back part of its thighs. By continuous scratching of these itches, your pet can thereby inflict injuries on itself, rendering the epidermis prone to infection. b) Tapeworm (Taenia Solium). The ticks are diagnosable as small subcutaneous lentils which attach themselves to the body of the pet, usually the muzzle, the ears and or the neck. The ticks thrive in fields, bushes or more in general in a forest ecosystem. They may be responsible for diseases such as: a) Lyme disease – A severe joint inflammation which causes the pet to experience difficulty of movement, vomiting, fever, muscle pain, myocarditis, meningoencephalitis, b) Ehrlichiosis which is the cause of a fever which is not curable using normal antibiotics, c) Barbesiosis which manifests in fever, joint pains, jaundice (icterus) or the presence of severe forms of anemia. Fleas and tick can be dangerous, not only for pets, but also for people Skudo Pet Dog can be attached to the collar of your dog or be positioned in proximity of the places where it usually rests (kennels, pillows, couches etc.) Skudo Pet emits a series of ultrasounds which not only forces the fleas and ticks to clear the area, but it also acts as a protection thus hindering future re-infestations.
